Atlanta-based apartment developer Wood Partners is set to open a large new complex in Pinellas Park, Florida, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The 288-unit complex will be built on 12 acres of previously unused real estate. The gated complex will include a clubhouse with a fitness center, a dog park and a swimming pool. A convenience store with gas pumps will also be on the property.
The land has been vacant since 2006, when a Buick dealership that occupied it closed, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The complex received official approval from City Council on May 24 and the Tampa Bay Times reports that the plans had been in the works for years.
The city has been receiving approximately $17,000 annually in tax revenue on the current property but officials said that amount will increase to about $260,000 annually with the new apartment complex, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
